In Color Club August 2020 - Cinnamon Cider

Do you read the labels on your packages of DSP when you receive them?  I do! The most important thing to me underneath the name of the paper is the list of colors that the paper coordinates with.  Checking out the list of coordinating colors is usually the start of my creative process.  Stampin' Up! products have so many wonderful features but to me, the color coordination is the most outstanding benefit of all of their products.

The cards for October use the World of Good Specialty DSP.


Set Sail in the Direction of Your Dreams

Base card:  Cinnamon Cider 8 ½ x 5 ½ scored at 4¼ (landscape orientation)
Strip of World of Good Specialty DSP: 1 x 4 
World of Good Specialty DSP: 4 x 4¼

Scraps: Very Vanilla and Gold Foil paper

Stamps:  Sailing Home

Dies:  Smooth Sailing

• Stamp sentiment "Set sail et al" with Cinnamon Cider ink on scrap of Very Vanilla. Cut out with label die as in sample. 
• Die cut the anchor from the gold foil paper. Tie some gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack through the hole on the top of the anchor.  Arrange as desired. (I frayed!)
• Adhere the strip of DSP to the left side of the base card and the other piece as in the sample. 
• Adhere the label with adhesive and the anchor with Dimensionals.

World of Good Specialty DSP: 4⅝ x 3⅜
Misty Moonlight panel: 4 ¾ x 3½ 
Scraps: Very Vanilla and Gold Foil paper

Stamps:  Sailing Home

Dies:  Smooth Sailing and Stitched Nested Labels

• Cut out from a large scrap of Very Vanilla the largest Nested Label die. Stamp "Thanks" with Misty Moonlight ink three times using the Stamparatus and the hinge step stamping technique. (see below) 
• Randomly stamp the compass on the front of the base card with Cinnamon Cider ink.
• Die cut the ship wheel from the gold foil paper. 
• Adhere the DSP to the panel of Misty Moonlight. And then adhere the stamped label.
• Tie some gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack around the adhered panels.
• Adhere the rest as in sample. No Dimensionals used.  

Hinge-Step Stamping        

• This technique is great if you would like a list of words or sentiments going either horizontal or vertical on your paper.
• You will place the stamp at the top of the paper with your plates in the top most position.  Ink the stamp and then holding the plate at a 90 degree angle lift the plate straight up and then move the entire plate down to the next opening.  There will be one empty hinge hole directly at the top. You will repeat this as many times as desired reinking the stamp every time you move the plate.
• If you would like your text/images to be vertical use the right plate. If you would like them to be horizontal use the top plate.
• If a word or image is small you may find the space between them is too great.  Do one entire series of stamps and then putting the plate back to the top most position remove the stamp from the plate and put it between the first and second images (on the paper) and then close the plate.  Repeat the hinge-step stamping to fill in the spaces.
